The Vscan Air Wireless Ultrasound mobile app was temporarily removed from the Google Play store. The instructions below will guide you through the necessary steps for downloading and installing the Vscan Air app from GE HeathCare Support Central.
1. Prepare Your Device
Ensure your Android device is connected to internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Make sure your device has enough storage space to download and install the app.
2. Download the Application
To access the download link for Vscan Air on your Android device, complete a simple form by scanning the QR code below:

3. Install the Application
Once the download is complete, open the Downloads folder or notification bar on your Android device.
Locate the file original.apk.
Tap on the file to begin installation.
4. Allow installation of “unknown” app
Note For Android devices enrolled in an enterprise Mobile Device Management system, you will need to ask your organization’s IT support team for assistance. For other Android devices, follow the steps below.
When prompted to allow installation of “unknown“ apps, tap Settings to proceed.
Turn on Allow permission.
When prompted, confirm the installation of Vscan Air by tapping Install (or Update if you have a precious version of Vscan Air installed.)
5. Grant Necessary Permissions (not applicable for upgrades)
After installation, open the Vscan Air app by tapping its icon on your home screen, app drawer, or when prompted to open Vscan Air.
Follow the on-screen instructions to grant any permissions the app requires (Refer installation instructions in the Vscan Air User Manual).
6. Start Using the Application
Once the app is set up and registered with you Vscan Air handheld ultrasound probe, you can start using it and access its features.
Note: After successful installation, it is recommended to disallow installation of unknown apps.
Open the Settings app on your device.
Navigate to Apps & Notifications (or Apps, depending on your device).
Select Special App Access or Advanced Settings.
Tap Install Unknown Apps.
Disable the option Allow from this source where enabled in step 4.
Important Notes Only download the application from the official URL provided by the GE HealthCare to ensure security and authenticity. If you encounter any issues during installation, contact the IT support team of your organization or vscansupport@gehealthcare.com for assistance.
A note concerning future Vscan Air app updates from Google Play Store.
The next time Vscan Air needs to be updated from Google Play, follow the steps below:
Export the exam data you want to keep. Export either to a configured DICOM, DICOMweb or NetworkShare.
Uninstall the Vscan Air App
Install from Vscan Air Wireless Ultrasound Google Play.
